Presentations to the Provost:

Use Google docs presentations or another web-based presentation system

PowerPoint alternatives: http://www.google.com/search?q=powerpoint+alternatives

Make sure that you present information in an easy-to-read format

Include striking visuals

Think about the aesthetics of your presentation -- what is the look of your presentation saying about your project?

Make sure that you present summary of major points of Learning Landscape article

Remember: audience is our Provost (chief academic officer of the college). You are trying to convince her to spend scarce resources on your project

Make sure that your presentation has a narrative that develops over the course of your presentation. Introduction, development of theme/major points, conclusion. Tell a story.

Make sure that your credits include team members and class info.

Portray yourselves as professional architects who are submitting a bid on a project

Make sure that the photos you use are of good quality.

Remember that everything in your presentation is a reflection of you, your company, and your work.

REVISIONS

Make sure that

1. You make significant changes between your first and second drafts
2. That your changes actually improve the essay
3. Look particularly for structural issues-- topic sentences, the ways in which you introduce your reader to the topic, development, order of paragraphs, transitions
